Uh-oh. More bad news for the `Palestinian Authority'

Looks like Palestinian Finance Minister Salam Fayyad, US trained and looked on by the US and The World Bank as a brake on the usual Palestinian kleptocracy has quit..Palestinian finance minister submits resignation - Yahoo! News

Officially, the explanation given is that he wants to run in the upcoming Palestinian elections. But the real reason, mentioned in this article and confirmed by the Freedom fighter's Palestininan sources is that Fayyad was fed up with fighting a losing battle with the cronyism and corruption within the PA,which included government monopolies to well connected Fatah `bosses' and outright bribes (AKA`salaries') to terrorists and gunmen in an attempt to buy support for Abbas' failing government.

Another rumor I got wind of is that Fayyad was just a leetle too diligent in trying to track down where some of the massive aid the Palestinians have received ended up and ticked off some of the wrong people...shades of the Godfather! Maybe he woke up one morning and found a camel's head on the pillow next to him.

Fayed was one of the few people in the Palestinian government trusted by foreign donors.

It doesn't look good, and this is just another nail in the coffin. Salaam Aleikem.
