6 Islamic radicals arrested in plot to kill US soldiers at Fort Dix

The FBI foiled a plot by Islamic terrorists to invade the US military base at Fort Dix with automatic weapons and kill as many soldiers as they could at the New Jersey military base.

The details contained in the FBI affidavit can be found here.

The wanna-be jihadis were identified as Dritan Duka, Eljvir Duka, Shain Duka, Mohamad Shnewer, Derdar Tatar and Agron Abdullahu.

Shnewer is a naturalized US citizen from Bosnia..one of those Muslim refugees we so thoughtfully allowed to enter the US. Dritan Duka, Eljvir Duka, and Shain Duka are also Bosnians...and illegal aliens. (What was that about an amnesty bill?)

Serdar Tatar of Philadelphia and Agron Abdullahu of Williamstown are legal residents. One was born in Jordan, one in Turkey.

The plotters were set up by an FBI sting following an investigation that started when these motards stupidly brought in one of their jihad training videos to have it converted to a DVD...and the shop owner notified the authorities.

"If you want to do anything here, there is Fort Dix and I don't want to exaggerate, and I assure that you can hit an American base very easily," one of the men told an FBI informant, according to the FBI. "You take a map and draw it and then you calculate that there are areas where there are 100 to 200 individuals . . .

"When you got a military base, you need mortars and RPGs," the man allegedly said.

"My intent is to hit a heavy concentration of soldiers," the man on the tape said. "You hit 4, 5 or 6 humvees and light the whole place up."

One of the charged conspirators, Serdar Tatar, was familiar with Fort Dix because his family owns a pizzeria nearby and he had delivered food there..and that's how he was planning to get access to the base with his comrades.

To me, the most interesting part of this (aside from the fact that the plot was only unveiled because the jihadis made a stupid, stupid mistake)was the fact that, as both the FBI and White House spokesperson Tony Snow admit, these were apparently free lancers, with no real connection to al-Qaeda or what Snow termed `international terrorist organizations.'

They were rather, inspired by Al-Qaeda and Osama bin-Laden after being radicalized here by local mosques and the internet here in America, and were able to get terrorist training videos, clips of attacks on US troops and even copies of a tape containing the last will and testament of at least two of the 9/11 hijackers very easily.

As the Brits, Australians and Canadians have discovered, there is a whole jihad subculture here in America, aided and abetted by jihad mosques, madrassahs, media and the web right here at home.

There have been a number of these amateur jihadis who've already been caught, many of them by sheer chance like these, and there will undoubtedly be more until we start dealing with this problem more directly.
